Our design team takes on the fundamental responsibility of ensuring all of our products reach the standard that we guarantee you. All of Corporate Engineering's GRP covers go through a rigorous design process to ensure they comply with the specific design codes.
These codes include:
BS EN 1991-1-1:2002 Cover Loadings
WIMES 8.05 (Issue 2) Appendix G - GRP Cover Specification
All UK Water Utility GRP and cover specifications
Structural design is carried out by our specialist structural
engineer who uses the latest FEA software to optimise the
design. Structural calculations can be provided for all CEL’s
covers.
The majority of CEL’s projects begin with a full dimensional
‘as-built’ survey of the structure to be covered. Customers
are then provided with a General Arrangement drawing for
approval of the cover concept and the position of accessories
etc.
For major projects, Corporate Engineering will carry out a project-specific Design Risk Assessment. Corporate's attendance at ALM (Access Lifting and Maintenance), HAZOP and design review meetings is also recommended to achieve the best project outcome for all parties. Corporate Engineering incorporate the requirements of the CDM regulations in the design process.
